All UTSA Campuses
What is the Heart Walk?
The Heart Walk is a collaborated event organized by the UTSA Wellness Committee and the State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC) Committee and is open to all faculty, staff, and students.
The UTSA Heart Walk will coincide with National Walking Day on April 2, 2014. Faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to participate in this healthy walking activity which is not only a key SECC fundraising event but also a “fitness-raising” event!
National Walking Day is about fighting heart disease and stroke, but it’s also about having fun and creating camaraderie! It’s a great way to raise some money for the SECC campaign, while getting some exercise at the same time!
What are the Goals of the Step-a-Thon?
1. Include the entire campus community in a fitness awareness event
2. Meet a campus pledge goal of $1600
3. Donate all the proceeds to the American Heart Association
4. Have fun!
How it works:
Participants raise funds by asking family and friends to sponsor them during the Heart Walk. Sponsors can pledge a flat donation, or participants can track donations via the Heart Walk Pledge Form and Registration Packet.
