UTSA Main Campus and Downtown Campus
What is the Step-a Thon?
The Step-a-Thon is a collaborated event organized by the UTSA Wellness Committee and the State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC) Committee and is open to all faculty, staff, and students.
The UTSA Step-a-Thon will coincide with National Walking Day on April 3, 2013. Faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to participate in this healthy walking activity which is not only a key SECC fundraising event but also a “fitness-raising” event!
National Walking Day is about fighting heart disease and stroke, but it’s also about having fun and creating camaraderie! It’s a great way to raise some money for the SECC campaign, while getting some exercise at the same time!
What are the Goals of the Step-a-Thon?
1. Include the entire campus community in a fitness awareness event
2. Meet a campus pledge goal of $1600
3. Donate all the proceeds to the American Heart Association
4. Have fun!
How it works:
Participants raise funds by asking family and friends to sponsor them during the Step-A-Thon. Sponsors can pledge a flat donation, or participants can track donations via the Step-a-Thon Pledge Form and Registration Packet.
The Step-A-Thon will take place at the Main Campus and at the Downtown Campus from 11:00am to 2:00pm on April 3, 2013. Completion of the Campus Recreation Waiver on ASAP must be done prior to participation.
Please be advised athletic attire must be worn while participating. Faculty and staff do not need to be members of the Rec Center to participate.
