Welcome to the website for The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) Focused Report 2010. We have provided a few guidelines on this homepage that we hope will make your experience go smoothly. We have also provided contact information of key technical people familiar with the site who can be contacted should you experience any difficulties.

Please click on one of the above navigation buttons for site information or additional assistance.

  1. If not already installed on your computer, please install Adobe Acrobat Reader by clicking on the Acrobat Reader icon.Get Acrobat Reader
  2. All supporting documentation associated with any narrative within the UTSA Focused Report 2010 will display in a pop-up browser window after clicking on the link. When you click on the first link, a message may appear at the top of the browser window, Figure 1, asking if you want to allow pop-ups. To view these documents, please insure that you turn off pop-up blockers that have been installed for security, Figure 2.

Explanation of Report Layout

The document index, left-hand column, is divided into multiple sections:

  1. Instructions,
  2. Responses to Core Requirements Findings,
  3. Responses to Comprehensive Standards Findings, and
  4. a Documentation Library.

The Document Library, bottom left-hand column, provides primary sources for supporting documentation taken from formal reference sites, such as the Main web site for Texas laws;

  • 2009-2010 Information Bulletin,
  • UTSA Handbook of Operating Procedures,
  • Graduate Catalog 2009-2011,
  • Implementation Plan 2008-2016,
  • Rules and Regulations of the Board of Regents,
  • UTSA 2016:  A Shared Vision (Strategic Plan),
  • Off-Site Committee Report, and
  • the Original 2009 Compliance Certification Report.

When navigating within the UTSA Focused Report 2010, you should not use the back or forward arrows on your internet browser. Using the browser arrows will give unpredictable results. Rather, click on the name of the narrative to be reviewed (in the column on the left) to open it. When you finish reviewing one narrative, return to the index in the left column and click on the next narrative of interest. (When you are at the end of a longer narrative, you may need to scroll up before the index is visible). If at any time your browser does not respond, click the stop button on your browser's tool bar and try the action again.

Please note that some supporting documents may take some time to load.

Explanation of Documentation

Documentation in the UTSA Focused Report 2010 (Report) is organized as follows:

  • Within the Body of the Response Narratives:

In the body of each narrative, we either provide links to PDF documents located within the Report website itself or links to live websites. When the same document is used in more than one place in a narrative, the same citation number will be referenced. Please note that some supporting documents are very large and may take considerable time to open.

  • In the Documentation Tables:

At the close of each narrative, we have provided a Documentation table for that narrative. The purpose of the table is to allow you to review all the documents at once if you so prefer, and to provide assurance that the document is taken from a valid source. We have attempted to use live sites whenever possible.

    • The first column identifies the citation number. When the same document is used in more than one place in a narrative, the same citation number will be referenced.

    • The second column, titled "Document”, displays the exact document or page of a document that provides support for the validity of a statement made in the narrative. The document in this column will take one of several forms. It will be a link to the entire document, if the document is short or a web page. PDFs are also employed if (1) the only documentation available was a hard copy; (2) we were provided a PDF by the office from which we requested supporting documentation; or (3) a PDF was the form that was provided by a web source.

    • The third column, titled "Source of Document", provides a link to the source of a supporting document. If the document was internally prepared specifically for the Report to support an assertion, we have put the letters "N/A" (not applicable) for “Source of Document”.

If at any time you would like to print a section of the UTSA Focused Report 2010, please use the “Printer Friendly” link located at the top right-hand corner of your screen. Note that trying to print in the browser instead of using the "Printer Friendly" option may result in the browser freezing up. You would then have to close the browser and start over. If you are using Internet Explorer to view the Report, please follow the instructions below to ensure the document prints correctly:

  1. Open the “Print Preview” screen
  2. Locate the “Change Print Size” drop-down menu
  3. Select “Shrink to Fit”
